AWESOME WEEK!

Hey everybody!

We had a pretty great week. We broke a record in the mission so we had a p-day with the whole mission and we went to the zoo, and you aren´t going to believe me but I forgot my camera. how terrible is that haha.

Alright, well, we were a teaching team this week and taught a whole bunch and it was really exciting. Jimmy got confirmed yesterday, so that was awesome. He wants to go on a mission and now he is going to start accompanying us to other lessons to bear his testimony. I´m so grateful for this work.

The pictures of the teepee are awesome and I´m super jealous but hey, I´m in Argentina on a mission haha. That is the most beautiful backyard that I´ve seen in a long time haha, quite a bit of vegetation.

Sorry not much to report this week, we´re just enjoying ourselves being representatives of Jesus Christ.

WOO-HOO!

What up everybody?!

Was conference freaking amazing or what?? We are super stoked to have prophets on the earth and we testifying all week so people would come. Jimmy, the kid we found a week and a half ago got baptized and we are so happy. Super prepared. He´s 18 and he´s thinking about serving a missionary. Jimmy Tom Jones, what a name for a Peruano haha.

Alright so I loved so many of the talks from this conference. Elder Oaks was incredible, I loved how much they talked about the sanctity of marriage and women. Elder Christofferson´s talk about women was amazing too. How the women are ostracized and denegrated (not sure if that is a word in english) here in Argentina. And marriage is a joke here too. I´m so grateful that we have prophets, seers, and revelators here on the earth, aren´t you? We haven´t seen the priesthood session yet but I heard that it was awesome. The missionaries can´t watch it because it is shown here at 9 at night.

Funny story, we invited one of our investigators to conference and he came! His name is Richmond, is from Africa, and is from the Seventh-day Adventist church and he brought 2 boxes of books from his church to share with everybody. It was super funny, a little awkward, especially when some of the members wanted to argue with him. Who is the father of contention again? Oh...that´s right. Last night we talked to him about authority and he accepted a baptismal date in two weeks! Woohoo we are excited.

We are working so much more effectively. We started focusing a lot more on having members in each and every one of our lessons and we did it this week! 30 lessons with members and 0 other lessons taught! We are really happy and should be accomplishing our goals of baptizing weekly.

We are so grateful for the blessings that God is giving us. We feel like the clouds have broken and we are literally drenched in miracles.

Oh and did you guys notice, I´m sure you did, the girl in the family choir who was just giving it her all haha. We were laughing about that for a while. Us missionaries found a room upstairs in the chapel and watched it in english and it was so much better to hear their voices instead of a translator. Alright, this letter is bastante long already. I love you all! Study the talks like Elder Hales said! Chau chau!

Hola todos!

Seriously this time I don´t have much time and of course this falls on a day where I have to ton to write about.

Leo finally got confirmed haha. We called probably 20 to 30 times to wake him up on Sunday and he didn´t answer so we went to his house, something he expressly told us not to do because his mom doesn´t like us, but he had to get confirmed yesterday or would have had to get baptized again.

So we went to his house and then we rang his doorbell for about 5-10 minutes with no answer. He lives in a house with about 10 different habitations so I started ringing ALL the doorbells and finally someone answered haha.

We talked to Leo, who had just woken up, and everybody in that house got mad at us but then we took him to church and he got confirmed!!!

Another miracle, cooler in my opinion, is that we were talking to a less-active family outside their motel on Tuesday night and a kid passed us and so we grabbed him and talked to him for two seconds and gave him a pamphlet of the Restoration. We couldn´t go back to see him the next day because the owners of the motel didn´t want us going back, so one of the kids from that family was accompanying us on Friday and so we went to his motel and asked him to talk to the kid for us.

Jimmy, the kid we gave the pamphlet to, came out and had read the whole pamphlet, was waiting for us to come back, and we invited him to be baptized. He said yes, accepted a baptismal date and said in his prayer that he was grateful that he had found the correct path. He came to church yesterday and is super excited for his baptism this Sunday. He´s 18 years old and in his prayer last night he said, ¨I give Thee thanks that Thou hast led me to Thy Church.¨ What a miracle!

If we just open our mouths, I promise that we will find those that are just waiting to find the truth.

I love you all and I´m so happy to be a missionary and the opportunity I have to talk to EVERYBODY and invite them to come to know Christ as I know Him.

Thank you guys for being so awesome.

Tranfers!!!

So we had transfers today and............nothing happened!! hahaha Elder Anglade and I are here to stay for six more weeks. We´re pretty stoked about that.

So we had a pretty awesome week too. Elder Viña from the Area Presidency visited us and talked a lot about working with members and also about retention, so we are working more on preparing our investigators better.

The sister missionaries in our ward baptized one of their investigators that my companion and I found in the street just talking to him. Kinda freaked me out haha. He´s incredibly prepared and was just waiting for the missionaries to talk to him.

There are literally people waiting for this gospel and we never know who they are. We have to help them and talk to them and be a little annoying so that they´ll come to church and get baptized!

We´re warming up down here, getting ready for the summer of all summers, I´m pretty sure I´m going to melt. Welp, I think that is about it.

Oh! So when we took the train to get the mission offices for the visit of Elder Viña a woman sat in front of us who I had talked to, on the same train, four months ago! She told me that the missionaries had never gotten to her house and so we wrote down her address and she lives in our area!!!! She was super ready to read the Book of Mormon and everything, set up a return appointment and.....the address doesn´t exist! I was so disappointed/frustrated because obviously the Lord wants her to receive the Gospel. We´ll see what happens with that.

Keep being awesome and prepare well for General Conference! Think about it, inspired men who receive revelation directly from God are going to be talking to us. Take notes!

Leo's Baptism. Leo wasn't smiling so Elder Wardle felt the need to tickle him a little bit!

CRAZY AWESOME WEEK!

Hola!!!!!

So we had an awesome week and I don´t have much time so we´ll see how much I can write really fast haha. On Tuesday we did divisions with the zone leaders because we've been struggling in our area and I went to their area with Elder Reber, who is awesome. He is super funny and is having a ton of success because he teaches lots of short lessons every day and then they come to church and get baptized. After that, Elder Anglade and I tried to implement the same method in our area and it worked! We reached 20 lessons with members this past week and we were super excited.

Leo, a young man from the Dominican Republic got baptized yesterday and it was truly a miracle. We found Leo when we were walking on the street and he called us and yelled, ¨MORMONES!!¨with a big grin. He had walked into a church before in the DR and so he recognized us that way. Teaching him was sort of different because he has never learned to read and he struggles with remembering things. Now that he is baptized I think we´re going to be teaching him how to read haha. He was super excited for his baptism and just super funny.

On Saturday we got to paint a hospital with about 100 other missionaries, so that was pretty fun, and I saw a bunch of people from my last ward. It is super rainy here, sounds super rainy over there too. We had about 2 days of summer and I was all excited to be in short sleeves again and then the cold came back.

So, yeah, that is about it. I think I´ve rambled enough for today! Love you guys, congrats to Whitney and Ben for the new baby! Sure thing he'll be a stud

Woohoo! Great week!

Whattup!!

So we had an awesome week because we just started having more faith in the people we are teaching. Faith that Heavenly Father is preparing them to be baptized and that they will recognize the Spirit when we invite them to be baptized.

It all started with a challenge from our district leader to invite 5 people to be baptized Thursday. We invited 6 and 3 accepted, and 2 of them came to church woohoo! Sometimes people are just waiting for the invitation.

We also had interviews with President on Tuesday and he is super cool. We talked about marriage and work and stuff in the future....weird to think about sometimes haha.

Sounds like things are cooling off up there while we are heating up down here! I think I'm going to melt in this humidity but here we go!

Love you guys
