Midnight Baptism!

Hey everyone I have no time because we moved today but we had an awesome week. The worldwide missionary training last night was incredible. We don´t know if we´ll be using Facebook in the next few weeks but it sounds like it haha. It was funny because at the beginning the Spanish wasn´t working so Elder Holland was telling jokes and only the missionaries in the chapel were laughing.

And then after the meeting, which finished at 9, we had a baptism! Her mom wanted to be there so we had to get permission to have our baptism at 10 at night, and then her mom showed up a little late so we had the baptism at about 11. Really crazy but it was beautiful. Yesica has been ready for a while and we were waiting for her parents to give permission and her dad finally just signed it. Awesome girl, she´s 15 and really prepared for this.

Alright with the meeting yesterday I´d like to share my testimony also that I know that this is the Lord´s work and that we have all promised (When we were baptized) to do it here on this earth. I invite all of you to truly think about what you can do personally to help the missionaries in your area. Help them to never have to knock on doors ever again haha.

I love you all, keep praying :)

Baptism!

AWESOME COLD WEEK!

Hola!

We had a really good week, we worked a lot and had a lot of fun while doing it. My Spanish in the past few weeks has improved a ton, at least my fluency because Elder Young will only speak in Spanish. One of his goals is to forget English and he is definitely getting there. Super funny when he tries to speak in English and he can´t haha.

We found a kid whose parents are members, less actives, and wanted to baptize him and so we taught him and baptized him yesterday. We made sure that he was prepared and he´s a pretty spiritual kid, his name is Gabriel and the only person I´ve met in Argentina so far who has an Xbox. He keeps trying to convince us to come over one night after we finish working and play Gears of War with him and basically refuses to believe that we can´t haha. We told him that the water was cold yesterday and he said, ¨¡Ni importa! Me bautizo igual¨ Which means who cares! I´m getting baptized anyways haha.

We´re working with a girl named Yesica right now who is very prepared, ready to get baptized, but her mom doesn´t agree with her decision. Even said that if God told her that her daughter needs to get baptized in His Church, she wouldn´t do it because all of the family is Catholic. So send some prayers that way if you would.

I think that is it, I love you all and am just so grateful for the opportunity to be here. God loves every single one of His children. Every single one of us is important to Him, seemingly insignificant as we are. Keep being awesome

Oriana Got Baptized!

Hola familia!

So we had a pretty sweet week. We´re finding like crazy and it is becoming difficult to visit all of our investigators, which is always a good problem to have. We did divisions this last Friday with the zone leaders, so Elder Young went to the Boca area and Elder Krivocheev came here. Elder Krivocheev is only 9 months out and just knows why he is here because his results are insane. He was born in Russia and then moved here when he turned 8, and got baptized two years ago. Very very smart and hilarious. It was just really cool to work with him because he is extremely direct and also loving, and if the people don´t accept then he knows it wasn´t his fault.

Oriana finally got baptized here, after 3 months of diligent work but now the family is complete mas o menos. She didn´t like Elder Pastrana, so she told me that when he left she would get baptized. Soooo Elder Young baptized her yesterday and she also refused to take any pictures. Welp, she is 14 but the important thing is that she accepted and now Alejandra and all of her kids are members of the True Church!

Happy to hear that everyone is doing good, sorry to hear that you are all dying in the heat, but I´m enjoying cool days down here haha. People dress up like there´s a blizzard outside and it is maybe 45 degrees. I have no idea what the temperature it really is because everything is in celsius here and I don´t know how to convert it.
Alright love you guys!

MEETING WITH ELDER COOK!

How´s it going everyone?

I just wrote a couple letters and it is really difficult to think in English right now haha. Elder Young and I have only been speaking Spanish to each other. We have a new sister missionary in our district and Elder Young translates when he talks in district meetings so she understands and his English is terrible, and I can´t not laugh at him haha. I know my English is bad too but not quite there yet.

Anyways, our baptism didn´t happen yesterday. We went to her house and she was sick (she´s 14 and kind of stubborn) and we offered to give her a blessing and she had basically already made the decision to not come so she will get baptized this coming Sunday.

This past Wednesday we had a special meeting with Elder Cook of the 12 and it was so awesome. He and Elder González of the 70 spoke to us along with some other seventies, and it was wonderful. Elder Cook spoke about working more in line with Bishops and the members, because if people don´t stay in the church after getting baptized, they become worse than they were before.

Satan would love if everyone would just get baptized then never go to church ever again. We have to help these people stay in, those of us who have been born in the church have no idea how hard it is for them. We are a different culture haha. They have to be grounded in the Gospel in order to endure to the end.

Oh, and I got to sing in a quartet for the meeting which was pretty cool. Pretty incredible meeting though and I´m just excited to be serving a mission. We are finding like crazy here, which is such a blessing. I love you all, stay awesome.

Love,

Elder Wardle
