Argentina!

Hey everybody!
So a couple of things can and should happen this upcoming Saturday, 5 July.

     1. Baptism of Leidy and Gabriela
So these two have been investigating the church for a while, 6 months, and now they have decided to get baptized this Saturday. We´ll be working with them a ton because their brother and their dad don´t want them to, but they made the decision this past Saturday.

       2. USA and Argentina play in the World Cup, which I kind of hope happens but I´m scared if we win then I will become a target here haha.

We had a great week and we are teaching a ton and finding new investigators. Love it when the work goes like this, though I know that the rough times help me appreciate these moments. We went out to look for investigators yesterday morning to go to church and there was a ton of fog and we could see about 10 meters in front of us is all. We got to church and we had ice in our hair and on our eyelashes, so yeah, pretty cold haha.

I´m so grateful for the things I´m learning!! The sacrament is such an amazing blessing. I feel like I constantly talk about it to less actives, recent converts, and investigators. As we partake worthily of the sacrament, we qualify for incredible blessings, including the remission of our sins and the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. What incredible blessings!!

I hope you are all doing amazing and enjoying the heat :)

VAMOS ARGENTINA!!

Well, pretty great week as usual :) We had the baptism of Juan, Roberto´s little brother on Saturday and it went well. We also are finding a few people with a lot of potential so we´re excited about that.

Not a whole lot to report this week, I went kind of stir crazy because my companion was sick and I had to be in the apartment with him. The world cup is pretty crazy, too bad about the Portugal tying it at the end yesterday. All the people here felt bad for me haha. They are all frustrated at the Argentine team, saying they aren´t playing well, what do I know.

I gave a talk in church yesterday about hastening the work of salvation. Something that I felt as I spoke was that it really isn´t that difficult to do missionary work, all we have to do is share who we are.

Become so converted that people can´t not recognize that we are followers of Christ, live in such a way that they want to be just like us. We have to be the image of Christ for the rest of the world. I love being a missionary :)

Hope you guys have a great week.

Baptism Pictures

LA COPA MUNDIAL (World Cup)

So not really sure if you guys are aware but Argentina is full of crazy people who go insane when their national team plays in the World Cup. Last night was pretty insane with the game and we were in a less active´s home and when Messi scored the goal the world exploded haha.

We had the baptism of Roberto, the other ones fell through but we´re working with them still. Roberto was super happy for his baptism and everything turned out great. His little brother is going to be baptized this Saturday so we´re stoked for that too.

I´m learning more than ever I think from the scriptures than any other time in my mission. So grateful for the time I´ve received to be out here. What a crazy thing to entrust to young men and women, but we grow a lot too, or at least we´re supposed to.

Happy Father´s Day, Dad! Yesterday was Father´s Day here too, but it kind of got overshadowed by the Argentina v. Bosnia game. Hope everyone is doing great.

Saldati

Hey everybody!

Awesome awesome week here in Soldati. The work keeps getting more fun :) Well at least this week it was really fun haha. We had the baptism of Dario, I´d send photos but the computer isn´t helping me. The baptismal service was great, on Saturday he had a lot of doubts about whether he wanted to be baptized on Sunday or not, and we helped him figure it all out and he decided to be baptized!!

We have the possibility of four baptisms this upcoming Saturday, so if you guys could pray for Roberto, Leidy, Alexander, and Gabriela, they need them. Roberto is 14 and has been coming to church for about 10 months and his father has never given him permission to be baptized. On Saturday we went to visit him and his dad and his dad said, ¨Yeah, I think it is his choice, so if he wants to get baptized go for it.¨ The dad also accepted a Book of Mormon and is going to church this week! The other three have been going to church for a while too, and just need a little more assurance that this is what they want to do.

I feel so grateful for the things that are happening here at this time in my mission. Elder Ochoa, my new companion, is AWESOME, he is hilarious and all we do is laugh together. Really, really weird how a while ago I wouldn´t have even understood him. Very, very focused and teaches me a lot.

Alma 26:31, Alma 31:34-35
Keep enjoying the heat! Cause I´m freezing haha.

Chau a Elder Puzey!

Hey everybody!
Weird change of events here in Soldati, Elder Puzey left today and I picked up my new companion. Elder Puzey was incredible and always taught me to aim higher, to get everything out of any experience that you can and reach excellence. Heavenly Father has truly blessed me with marvelous companions in my mission and I know that Elder Ochoa, my current companion will be the same. He is a mini missionary from a stake in this mission, he is serving a mission for only 6 months and so he´s halfway done already. Pretty happy here to have another Argentine companion :)
This past week we were privlileged to be a part of a stake conference that was presided by Elder Gonzalez from the 70 of the reorganization and the opening of a new stake here in Buenos Aires. Turns out Soldati is part of the new stake! and my stake president from when I first got here in Chacabuco is now my stake president again, Presidente Catala, who is pretty awesome. We´re really excited to be part of history and see some real growth here in the city!!
My testimony of the Book of Mormon has constantly increased in the mission. It is the tool that God has prepared to bring about this work that we are so blessed to participate in. Elder Gonzalez said on Sunday, ¨If we do not use the Book of Mormon, we are under condemnation.¨ Pretty strong words, but I know that as we read from its pages and search for opportunities to share it with others, we will be happier, have the Spirit more, and find people who are searching for the truth but don´t know where it is!
I love you guys so much, thanks for being awesome. Until next week!
Love,
