Finishing February!

Hey everybody!
We don´t have too much time today but this week was awesome. Finishing the month of February and the zone killed it and we broke our record for baptisms and confirmations!

While in sacrament meeting yesterday our Bishop spoke about the small and simple things. If we do not focus on the small things, we will fail, fall because small things build. Small weaknesses turn into large weaknesses, but small things that we can do everyday will build up our defenses. Praying every day and reading from the Book of Mormon EVERYDAY is what Heavenly Father wants us to do. If we would just do these two simple things, our lives would change for the better, we would experience the Holy Ghost in more abundance, be happier, and we would be preparing ourselves to reach the Celestial Kingdom. I have noticed in my mission that as I take my personal prayer and scripture study seriously, miracles happen in the mission field.

Alright, felt the need to preach. I hope you guys are all doing awesome. Love you!

Muddy Streets!

Hey everybody,

So super awesome, random week. Turns out when lots of rain and wind comes, our roof of sheet metal, called chapa, lifts up and then slams back down making sleep impossible. Another effect, streetsmade out of dirt become super muddy, so we enjoy walking through them and apologizing to members and non-members alike as we walk into their clean houses with muddy shoes.

Besides that, some pretty amazing things happened. We helped a less active guy build an add on room to his house. Well, more like we mixed cement on the ground for him while he built it because our brick laying skills aren´t super great. Then we went to church and the water wasn´t working so our Bishop volunteered his swimming pool for a baptism so we had cool caravan to his house in which my companion and I rode in the back of truck. A guy went to church for his first time, went to the baptism at the Bishop´s house, and accepted a baptismal date for March 2.

Plus the zone is seriously kicking butt this month of February. Our goal for the month was 12 baptisms/12 confirmations and with one weekend left we are at 11/8 right now with 7 set baptisms this Sunday!! So blessed to be a part of the work right now. Open your mouth people, because there are people waiting for the truth, not coming to the truth for they know not where to find it.

Baptism of Lourdes and Temple Day

Baptism of Lourdes!

Temple Day! 2/10/2014

What's Up?

What´s up everybody!!

We had a pretty good week here in the boonies. Lots of rain and lots of mud but we´re feeling good. Realized lately that I have been extremely blessed with my companions in my mission. I´ve gotten along with all of them and though we may have differences I end up enjoying my time with them so much. Elder LeBaron is finishing his mission in a month and we are just really enjoying the work together.

We were able to go to the temple this morning with the whole mission and it is such a blessing that we have the true Church on the earth isn´t it? Satan tries to shake our testimony through so many mediums in the world today but all we have to do is trust in what we know to be true. One of the most worrying things but so critical in the conversion process is working through doubts. Many of the people I have taught experience doubts, many right before or right after baptism, and they struggle and I can only lead them to the truth and I just want to convince them. I know that this is the true Church, I testify of it daily and the Spirit helps me know that it is true. So grateful that I have it in my life, and so grateful for a family that taught me the truth even when I didn´t recognize it.

Love you guys!

SO MUCH RAIN!!

Hey family!
I don´t have a ton of time because we went downtown for Pday today to visit a family of Elder LeBaron´s converts so we are kind of in a rush.

So rainy this week. Well, basically just rainy at night and then it stayed super humid during the day but yesterday and today it has cooled off a bit so now we´re alright.

We had a sick baptism yesterday of this girl named Lourdes who is 12 years old who basically knew everything we needed to teach her already because her extended family are all members. Pretty darn awesome and we were stoked. I KNOW without a doubt that there are people waiting for us to invite them to church and tell them about the Gospel.

We would never have found this incredibly prepared girl if it weren´t for the amazing family that is always looking for missionary opportunities. We have to get out there and talk to EVERYONE, because they are our family, whether they know it or not, and they cannot return to live with us and our Heavenly Father without the knowledge of the Gospel.

I love you guys so much! I´m so grateful that I am a missionary for the True Church of Jesus Christ :)
