Wonderful, Wonderful Week!

Wonderful, wonderful week.

We had a few setbacks what with a wedding that was supposed to happen but didn´t because the darn paperwork didn´t work out so they have to wait a couple more weeks but it is alright because they probably need some more time to prepare anyways.

We´re finding, teaching, baptizing, and we are happy! Elder Puzey is an example to me of diligence. He really, really really wants to learn spanish quickly so that he can be a more effective missionary and so every spare moment he gets he pulls out something to study with. I even think my spanish is improving with him haha. We had a great lesson with a family who´s father is an inactive member and they showed up to church by themselves. Leidy (20) Gabriela (19) and Alexander (17) are all very well educated and extremely prepared for baptism but they are scared to commit! We were able to testify to them that they are ready and that they need to get baptized as soon as possible. They´re still working it out, but they are going to get baptized soon, we can feel it!

I am very impressed by the ward here, they are a ward that works and gets things done. We have so much member participation, and that´s probably why there are four companionships of missionaries here. I feel so blessed to work with these consecrated members that want to do everything they can to serve God´s children. I want to be like that, I want to constantly seek to please Heavenly Father by my actions. He loves us so much, and I know He loves me so much. Thank you all for being such great examples for me. I love and pray for you :)

Oh! and my birthday was pretty cool, a few families made me cakes and it was great! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter everybody!

First of all, thank you so much for the pictures, made my day for sure.

We had an incredible week with many many blessings. We baptized the last child of the Acuña family and it was awesome. The mom was so happy to see all of her children baptized now. We´ve been working with a couple that lives in the same building as them and they should be getting married and baptized this weekend.

This area is incredible, we are being blessed daily and seeing the Lord´s hand in our lives. There´s a great video on LDS.org called Because of Him that is pretty great. I´m so grateful for my Savior and grateful for His love and patience that He has for me. We are all so blessed, and I know that as we do what´s right, we will be even more blessed and receive happiness. I love you all, keep being amazing and fighting. My companion and I were talking about how we have to fight everyday, but it is worth it. One of his favorite quotes that he shared with me was, ¨Nothing changes if nothing changes.¨ We have to be the catalyst that changes our situation. We have to act, we have to make things happen, they won´t just happen by themselves, so change things if they aren´t going your way, make the difference. Yep, feeling pretty darn inspirational today :) Have a great week!

CRAZY WEEK

Pretty crazy week, being in a new area and all the news. Sounds like Carey went away peacefully and that the memorial service went by well. Hearing the news was kind of rough, but I didn´t really have time to think about it. We were in a lesson and we told a mother of one of our investigators that her son can´t be baptized because he has to be off probation first. As we were discussing that, I started thinking about Carey and the family and realized, woah, we are so blessed to know the truth. Having this truth allows us to be so much more stable, happier, and with more hope. Knowing that I will see Aunt Carey again and that we have the Spirit to help us as we miss her helped me a lot.

In other news, we had a baptism of a 16 year old girl and she´s pretty cool. Their whole family is getting baptized little by little. We´re working a lot with them and they are pretty awesome. The ward here is pretty incredible and I´m really excited to work here. Another bonus, my companion, Elder Puzey, is probably one of my favorite companions I have ever had. He is still in training, almost has 4 months in the mission, but I´ve learned a ton from him and he is extremely funny. So grateful for the blessings I receive daily in the work. More than anything I have learned on my mission, I have learned how much Heavenly Father loves us and is willing to help us wherever we are.

Conference and Changes

Hey everyone!

I hope you were all able to experience the Spirit as we watched our inspired leaders talk to us this weekend. Some of my favorites, if I´m allowed to have favorites, were the talks of Elder Bednar, Elder Holland, President Monson, President Uchtdorf, and Elder Zwick. I absolutely loved Elder Aidukatis´ energy also haha.

A little crazy this weekend, Friday I received a phone call from President telling me that I was being transferred to Soldati the next day. Kind of a shock, but I packed my things, said goodbye to a few people, and left! Soldati is pretty awesome, the Elders here are having some incredible success. I am now one of the 8 missionaries in the ward and there is a lot of work to be done.

Haven´t really gotten to know my area yet because of the conference, but I got to go to the chapel of Caballito to watch conference and saw a lot of the members from Caballito so that was really fun. I am with Elder Puzey from Oregon, who is now finishing his second transfer in the mission, and he is awesome, we get along very well.

I know that as we have struggles, the Lord knows that we can handle them and that we can come out victorious. As Elder Bednar said, these trials and blessings and consequences constitute our ¨load¨ which creates the necessary spiritual friction to help us progress. I love you guys so much and pray for you. Have a great week!!!
